Fellow Executive, District Coordinators, Appointed Officers, Delegates, Observers and guest; I greet you with joy and gratitude to God for our lives. Today, as we gather for this first annual assembly, I want you to know that you are not here by mistake. You are here because God has a purpose for you, a calling upon our generation, and a divine assignment in this season. Our theme, “Called Out, Built Up: A Holy Generation,” is anchored in the Word of God from 2 Corinthians 6:17, which says: “Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” Brethren, the call in this verse is not a call to isolation but a call to distinction. God is calling us to stand out not in pride, but in humbleness and holiness; not in rebellion, but in obedience; not in compromise, but in conviction. As we reflect on what it means to be called out and try to find answers, it’s important to understand that to be called out means God has chosen you from among many. In a world that places many pressures on young people, God invites us to be transformed. We are called out of darkness into light, out of confusion into truth, out of sin into righteousness. We may be surrounded by voices pulling us in different directions, but remember this: God’s voice is the one that gives life and direction. Therefore, we must always listen to his voice. God does not only call us out. He also builds us up. He builds us through His Word, through prayer, through discipline, and through fellowship like this gathering. We are not meant to walk this journey alone. Let us allow God to shape our character, strengthen our faith, and mature our walk with Him. Let Him build us into young men and women of integrity, wisdom, and spiritual strength. Global Methodist Young People, we are a holy generation. It is important to note that holiness is not about perfection; it is about dedication. It is choosing God all of the time even when it is hard. It is standing for the faith even when the world sees an idea to be right because of its popularity. It is loving God with our whole heart and reflecting Christ in our words, actions, and lifestyle. As your National Coordinator, I encourage you not to be ashamed of our new faith. Do not underestimate your impact. Do not give up, though this journey feels challenging. Always remember that God is counting on this generation. The Global Methodist Church is counting on us. And the world is waiting to see the light of Christ shine through us. Let us rise up as a new generation that is called out, firmly built up, and boldly walk as a holy people unto the Lord.
May God strengthen us, guide us, and use us mightily for His glory.
